What is the RTG Crane?
A RTG crane (rubber tyred gantry crane) is a mobile gantry crane used in intermodal operations to ground or stack containers. Inbound containers are stored for future pickup by drayage trucks, and outbound are stored for future loading onto vessels. RTG cranes typically straddle multiple lanes, with one lane reserved for container transfers.
Rubber tyred container gantry cranes (RTG) are not only suitable for the front yard of the container terminal, but also suitable for the special container yard of the rear transfer station. It is suitable for the loading and unloading operations of ISO20’/40’ international standard containers (and heavy containers). The main technical features of the machine are: in the overall design, the lifting mechanism and the trolley operating mechanism are designed to share a set of driving devices, the mechanism is fixedly installed on the bottom beam, the trolley is equipped with a lifting pulley block, and the frequency conversion speed regulation method is adopted for the Correction during the operation of the cart.
