The fastest growth rate in 2019, the market value increased by X% year-on-year. As a result, consumption peaked at X dollars before falling significantly the following year.
Crane production in 2020 dropped significantly to $X at export prices. During the period under review, however, production declined slightly. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2011, when production increased by X% over the previous year. Italian crane export scale
Overseas shipments of cranes, mobile crane frames fell -X% to X units in 2020, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. The largest crane markets by value from Italy are France ($X), Germany ($X) and the United States ($X), accounting for X% of total exports. The UK, Canada, Austria, Netherlands, Romania, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Poland and Australia are slightly behind, plus the X main destination countries, Romania has the highest export value growth rate over the period under review, while the other leaders shipments experienced a more moderate pace of growth.
Import scale of Italian cranes
In 2020, after three years of growth, overseas purchases of cranes and mobile cranes decreased significantly, and their number decreased by -X% to X units. Overall, imports suffered a severe setback. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2017, with an X% year-on-year increase. During the period under review, imports peaked at X units in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, import figures were slightly lower.
In 2020, crane imports totaled X dollars by value. Overall, imports showed a relatively stable trend pattern. 2018 appears to have seen the fastest growth, with an X% increase over the previous year. As a result, imports peaked at X dollars. Import growth remained low in 2019-20.
China (X units), Austria (X units) and Germany (X units) are the main suppliers of Italian crane imports, together accounting for X% of total imports.
From 2007 to 2020, among the major suppliers, China recorded the most significant sourcing growth rate (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest import growth rates.
By value, the largest crane suppliers to Italy are China ($X), Austria ($X) and Germany ($X), which together account for X% of total imports. Finland, Slovakia, France and Sweden lagged other major suppliers to a certain extent, with Slovakia (+X% per annum) having the highest growth in import value during the period under review, while other leaders experienced a more moderate pace of growth in purchases.
Statistics of various crane suppliers in Italy
Italy’s largest crane suppliers by value are China ($54 million), Austria ($47 million) and Germany ($42 million), which together account for 71% of total imports. Finland, Slovakia, France and Sweden are slightly behind, with a combined 15%.
In value terms, France ($131 million), Germany ($117 million) and the United States ($93 million) appear to be the largest markets for Italian crane exports globally, together accounting for 30% of total exports. The United Kingdom, Canada, Austria, Netherlands, Romania, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Poland and Australia are slightly behind with a combined 35%.
In 2020, the average export price of cranes was USD 29,015 per unit, a decrease of -9.6% from the previous year.
The average price of crane imports in 2020 was US$50,880 per unit, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year.
