Data from China Customs shows that Iraq will import various types of crane equipment from China worth US$7.306 million in 2021, down 37.45% from the total import value of US$11.676 million in 2020. According to data from the Ministry of Commerce of China, the bilateral import and export volume of goods between China and Iraq from January to October 2021 was US$30,247.28 million, compared with 2020. The contraction of the Iraqi crane market may be related to the rise in crane raw materials caused by the surge in global iron ore prices in 2021.
