Import scale of lifting equipment in Italy

Foreign supply of lifting equipment decreased by -X% to X units in 2021, the third consecutive year of decline after two years of growth. But overall, imports show a relatively flat trend pattern. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2014, when imports increased by X% over the previous year. During the period under review, imports reached a maximum of X units in 2018; however, imports decreased slightly from 2019 to 2021.

In terms of value, hoisting equipment imports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. During the review period, imports fell sharply. Austria is Italy’s largest supplier of lifting equipment by value, accounting for 29% of total imports. In second place is Germany, with 14% of total imports. This is followed by Poland with a 13% share.

The biggest markets for Italian lifting equipment exports by value are France, the Netherlands and Brazil, which together account for 35% of the total. The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Germany, Estonia, Congo, Belarus, Kenya, Mexico and Yemen are slightly behind with a combined 24 percent.

The average export price of hoisting equipment in 2021 is $8,716 per unit, down -18.6% from the previous year.

The average import price of hoisting equipment in 2021 is US$3,343/unit, a year-on-year decrease of -26.5%.
